What to Bring

Upon arrival to the Favor House, all personal items and person will be searched.  This is a necessary part of our intake process to ensure the safety of our existing residents.  Any items that are not allowed or that are in excess of the list below will not be allowed to remain on property.  These items will be donated or mailed home at the resident’s expense.  Any items containing alcohol will not be allowed.

Residents are allowed to bring the following:

Personal/Electronics

• Personal hygiene items (cologne, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, etc.)
• Personal towel/wash clothes
• Laundry detergent – washer and dryer are on site and available for residents to use
• Bedding items – Pillow and blanket (all beds are twin size)
• Cellphone, laptop and tablets are allowed (these items are closely monitored and are considered a privilege which can be denied at any time.)
• Headphones and/or earbuds
• Up to $200.00 cash (turned into Resident Savings Account upon arrival to be dispersed weekly)
• Certified Identification (Social Security cards, Drivers license, State ID, Birth Certificate)
• 30 days of all approved prescription medications. Over-the-counter anti- inflammatory medication and vitamins are allowed. All medications remain in a locked area at all times.
• Non-perishable food items. Please limit these items to no more than two grocery size bags. All residents are provided with a storage container and any items that do not fit will be discarded.

 

Clothing:

Each resident is provided with 2-3 dresser drawers and a 3-foot area to hang clothing.

1 – Bible (Recommended literature to bring: NIV Recovery Devotional Bible (Zondervan Publishing), an Alcoholics Anonymous “Big Book,” and AA’s Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. AA Literature may be ordered through the website, “aa.org.”)

5 – Pens
